Organic Farm

There is a huge confusion for the layman about what exactly is organic farm. Because the sound is almost the same people often think the same Organic Hydroponic or Aeroponic. Maybe it's just because of the sound similarity suffix 'nic' course in addition to the connotation of people will equally vegetables more expensive than vegetable bulk and packed in plastic bags in supermarkets branded it created the impression that organic vegetables with both 'nic' the other is high-class vegetable cultivation with new technology and advanced special.

What Actually 'Organic Farm' It?
Organic Farm Not Just Growing Plants Without Chemical Fertilizers
Organic Farm is not just Farm without chemical fertilizers.
Organic Farm is not natural nor pollute pollute our bodies.
Organic Farm is a return to the land of what-what we take from it.
Organic Farm is about the best quality of food available for human nature.
Also about to sell their farm, which runs lasting sustainable.
And most importantly ... Organic is not stealing the future of the earth and the future of our children ...

But on the contrary, organic farm is the traditional way of farming that has been done by our ancestors thousands of years the human race before the Green Revolution. Since the Green Revolution, people began to abandon traditional farming methods and move on to a variety of agricultural chemicals, both chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides are mostly made from petroleum derivatives (petrochemical), which proved to be highly toxic and carcinogenic (cancer triggers ). Since it is precisely the term conventional farming means farming with the aid of chemicals, while our ancestors even given a special term 'organic'.

When Hydroponic and Aeroponic are planting vegetables in water as a growing medium made by adding various nutrients into the water (because the water is not a place to grow in nature), organic farm is farming in fertile soil for fertility treated with compost and manure that is mechanism maintaining natural soil fertility provided. Treating the soil with compost and manure is a process of returning to the land of anything that we've taken from the ground, and keep recycling this means maintaining a balance between the human food chain, plants and soil, because the soil is not inanimate objects such as people think - soil contains millions of microorganisms of life work together in harmony in a complex system and amazing.

The arrogance of modern man who thinks ground only inanimate object in the service of human needs (not in a reciprocal relationship as it should be) has dragged us to the big problem very complicated: the destruction of natural ecosystems, lack of food security, to a variety of diseases caused by residue chemicals from ending up in crops we eat.

Where this problem come from?

In the first stage, this problem arises from the discovery in the early 19th century who managed to identify macro nutrient - protein, carbohydrates, and fats. The success scientists have isolated the three components of the meal they will have made the experts think they have solved the secrets necessary for human nutrition. However, some people who have fulfilled their diets with the three nutrients was still sick (like sailors who do not eat fresh for months). Finally the mystery was solved when a scientist discovered a Vitamin-2 staple in the diet as key to the two nutrients necessary for human.

Thus the discovery of Justus von Leibig, an early 19th century German chemist who should be responsible for massive silting by the science of the human understanding of both ends of the food chain.

More recently, another key to health in the food found from research scientist at the University of California-Davis in 2003, called 'polyphenols' in plants (this explains why even the processed foods that have been fortified with vitamin would never be the same as healthy and nutritional Great with fresh food). And finally we also think, what else is yet known to man that is in plants that apparently determine our survival? Polyphenols as evidence of linkage in the food chain. (See article Agricultural Organic vs. Conventional).

Along with what happens in the series of discoveries and new understanding of human nutrition at the tip of the 'food chain' page, the same thing also happened on the other end, which is a working farm. Justus von Leibig the very same who have made the conclusion that she has found the key to soil fertility are only formed by the three components of N, P and K (Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium).

Leibig was not wrong in his findings, he just made a fatal error when it concluded that only limited to substances that are necessary for human or plants to grow healthy. Perhaps this kind of error in the world of science will continue until scientists were able to build a more respectful attitude complexity in the natural mechanisms.

Conclusion:

In summary, organic farm is environmentally friendly farming. Thus, it means do not use agricultural chemicals that can destroy nature.

Conducted in an integrated pest management, which in principle is more to avoid the arrival of pests rather than eradicate, for example by planting a poly-culture that is planted various types / families of plants in one location, not a mono-culture, so the pest / disease in one plant family can be isolated, than when planting a poly-culture that will enable a widespread to the whole plant.

Planting a crop rotation based part would be taken as a result, whether the roots, leaves, or fruit, and thus may provide an opportunity to the land for an indefinite.

In urgent situations, pests and diseases treated with pesticide plant herbs like neem oil, tobacco, garlic, beans pork, etc..

Another way is to provide for the natural enemies of pests.

In addition, the main condition is the pure land is not contaminated (the former conventional farming with chemical fertilizers and pesticides can not be directly used, should first be cleaned of chemical residue planted to the road for 2 years before they can be called organic agriculture).

The water used to irrigate also not be contaminated or through other farms tilled conventionally (using chemicals).

The air in the location of the garden should also be free of pollution (so it can not make an organic farm on the side of the highway).

So the ideal prerequisites an organic farm. To fulfill it is not easy in this day and age. Land that meets the requirements they will have been very rare, especially in this crowded country. Changing the paradigm of farming on our farmers who have received ad onslaught of pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, chemical fertilizers, which are actually taught by the Department of Agricultural Extension of villages that have been 'bought' by the agrichemical manufacturers, and one might say almost impossible.

Without the lure of organic agricultural prices paid to farmers are more expensive, they will not want to farm organically. Although there are economic consequences if the motive be the only appeal. They will never change the paradigm farm permanently. Therefore, in the capacity of the movement can only be executed if there are trading systems that can be relied upon alone.

In these circumstances, although it is impossible to avoid completely, but choosing organic agriculture is clearly much better than regular crops (conventional). Good for health, because the chemical residue is much lower and nutrients such as vitamins, enzymes, polyphenols and other micro nutrient higher. Good for the soul, because it is produced by the organic rules more equitable towards fellow human beings and the natural world.
